first thoughts

we had decided on a song to make a music video, now we had to think of ideas to put into the video. we decided to look at the lyrics and see if there was a narrative in the lyrics which we could tell.

when looking at the lyrics we found that we saw a story of a boy and a girl who are best friends, but the boy is destroying his life and the girl hates this and gets angry and they fight the boy then realises he has done wrong and tries to repair the relationship.

we had decided early on that we wanted to tell a narrative as well as show a band playing the song.

so we decided to do research into how other music videos accomplished these things.

Deciding what to do

after a short discussion with my media team we decided that we wanted to create a music video.

the next thing we had to do was to pick a song which we all liked and could get a few instant ideas for what the music video for said song could incorporate. we looked at many diffrent songs from many diffrent genres and finally settled on 'Just a day' by Feeder. from this point we started planning.

A new begining

last year i made the production Pokers advocate 

this is a list of the hardware that me and my team used to create it.

we used a HDD camera to capture footage

to light our scenes we used red head halogen lights and one LED box light for the close ups to get the sparkle in the eye and the pale skin

to capture the sound we used a microphone on the end of a boom pole this insured we got good quality sound

we used Apple iMacs to upload and edit our footage on 

on the iMacs we used iMovie HD i would have preferred to use final cut express to edit the footage but unfortunately it wasn't working properly 

we used powerpoint to do the opening animation
